about TMD
The jaw joint, the hidden offender
More and more people suffer from pain in their head, neck, shoulders, back, hips, and knees, the cause of which remains undetected for years. This is because the cause often lies elsewhere: in the jaw joint. Even a slight misalignment can cause discomfort in completely different parts of the body. This condition is called Temporomandibular dysfunction, or TMD.
The good news: With TMD Navigator, you have found the way to fewer symptoms and less pain.

The cost of a complete TMD treatment depends on the individual symptoms and the extent of treatment required. Before treatment begins, you will always receive a cost estimate from the TMD specialist in your region so that you can plan ahead with certainty.
Temporomandibular means “relating to the temple and lower jaw (mandible)” and “dysfunction” indicates that something is wrong. When we talk about TMD, we are referring to a condition that affects the jaw, or more precisely, the upper and lower jaw, the temporomandibular joints, and the masticatory and neck muscles.
Experts also like to refer to it as a functional disorder of the masticatory and jaw system. Or a malposition of the temporomandibular joints. However, the most important information is this: if a malposition develops or already exists in the jaw area – for example, due to a change in tooth position caused by grinding or clenching, or poorly fitted dentures – it can really mess up the whole body – in a negative way.
Every day, we deal with people who have been suffering for years from back, shoulder, neck, muscle, and joint pain, or even migraines, tinnitus, and dizziness …
The best way to start is with our free TMD test to find out if you are affected by Temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD). It only takes three minutes and gives you a very good indication of whether the cause of your symptoms may lie in your jaw. However, there are other options, which are described in the video by our consulting specialist, Dr. Hamide Farshi, M.D.Sc.
